The Chattanooga Technology Council (CTC) is proud to announce the formation of a Women in Technology Chapter (WIT) in Chattanooga. A small group of CTC members identified a need for an affinity group for women in technology. This is a program of the CTC and its structure is based on successful models in Atlanta, Washington DC and other major cities across the US. This new group has been formed with the mission “To provide support and recognition for women in technology through education, networking and mentoring.”
There is a gender gap in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) jobs with women filling close to half of the jobs in the US economy, but holding less than 25% of STEM jobs and a disproportionately low share STEM. www.chattanoogatechnologycouncil.org.
